A revival of Do I Hear a Waltz? opens July 15 in at the Pasadena Playhouse in Pasadena, Calif. The infrequently produced Do I Hear A Waltz? features the music of Richard Rodgers along with the lyrics of gay composer Stephen Sondheim and a book by gay writer Arthur Laurents, based on Laurentss play The Time of the Cuckoo. The play was also the basis for the 1955 Katharine Hepburn romance Summertime, in which an aging American spinster discovers love of the illicit European variety among the canals of Venice, Italy. The cast features Alyson Reed (of the film A Chorus Line), Carol Lawrence (West Side Story), and Anthony Crivello (Kiss of the Spider Woman). Out director David Lee is also the creator of the television shows Frasier and Wings. The show runs through August 19. For additional information, call (626) 356-PLAY.
