According to The Hollywood Reporter, out writer-producer Ryan Murphy is slated to direct his first feature film, Why Cant I Be Audrey Hepburn? Murphy has previously directed several episodes of the acerbic high school television comedy Popular, which he created. The project, which has been in development under the aegis of various production companies for four years, will be scripted by Murphy and produced by Joni Sighvatsson and Greg Feinberg. The story involves a 25-year-old woman who moves to Los Angeles and quickly gets a job at a local news station as well as a fiancé. Within a week, however, she loses both the job and the man and finds herself turning to the best man from her canceled wedding, with whom she shares a love of Audrey Hepburn pictures. Shooting on the romantic comedy is expected to begin by the end of this year.
