Openly gay HIV/AIDS researcher Michael J. Scolaro will exhibit his new works of art at the Paramount commissary and executive dining room, on the Paramount Studios lot in Los Angeles, beginning Friday, August 31. "Painting is a meditative experience for me," says Scolaro. "All the daily life-and-death issues of AIDS care are lifted, and I am left with a greater sense of peace than I've had in my whole life." All proceeds from the exhibition will be donated to the Let There Be Hope Medical Research Institute, which conducts research and clinical studies to find new treatments for diseases of the immune system and other chronic diseases. There will be an artist reception honoring Scolaro, open to the public, on September 7 at Paramount. For reservations call (310) 247-0136 no later than September 6.
