"Playing It Safe," a recent episode of the HBO sitcom Arli$$ that has fomented controversy among gay sports fans, will be rerun by the network on Friday, August 30. The episode, written by out writer Chrisanne Eastwood, features a fictional gay baseball player grappling with whether to come out of the closet. Real-life former pro athlete Billy Bean guest-stars as himself and in one scene advises the fictional athlete not to publicly reveal his sexuality.
