 10. MUSIC: Aphrodite – Live 2011, Kylie Minogue
Beginning April 29 in Boston, the U.S. leg of Kylie Minogue’s world tour includes a three-night stint at New York’s Hammerstein Ballroom, a return to the Hollywood Bowl, and a closing night at Caesar’s Palace in Las Vegas. Minogue celebrates the tour with the May 3 release of a digital EP, North American Tour Bonus Edition, which includes five live recordings and a short film featuring backstage footage of the gay icon on the road.

 9. FILM: East End Film Festival
The 10th year of this London fest, which runs through May 2, boasts its biggest selection of LGBT films ever: Among them, Catherine Donaldson’s Beauty and Brains (pictured top) documents a talent contest for Nepal’s “third-gender” citizens; Kanchi Wichmann’s Break My Fall (middle), an ode to London party culture, focuses on lesbian bandmates; and Jan Gassmann’s Off Beat (bottom) sees a Swiss gay rapper spiraling out of control.

 8. THEATER: Wasted on a Boy: The Highs & Lows of a Hollywood Scamp
Chloë Sevigny-impersonating comedian Drew Droege directs Sam Pancake in Pancake’s new one-man show — May 3 and 4 at the Cavern Club Theater in L.A. — about his semi-charmed life as an openly gay pseudo-celebrity. Considering Pancake has had gay guest spots on the biggest hits (Friends, Will & Grace, Curb Your Enthusiasm) and the biggest flops (Kitchen Confidential, anyone?) in TV history, it should be a dishy riot.

 7. DVD: Bloomington
Writer-director Fernanda Cardoso’s sweet and sexy feature debut, which SheWired.com calls “touching and realistic,” is out May 3 on DVD. Sarah Stouffer stars as Jackie, a former TV child star who goes to college and ends up dating her hot professor, Lillian, played by Alison McAtee. Lillian has a bad reputation — “freaking vampire lesbo,” says one student — but a renewed interest in acting might make Jackie the cold heartbreaker.

 6. FILM: What’s the Name of the Dame?
From filmmaker Allan Neuwirth, who’s also known for his syndicated “Chelsea Boys” comic strip with Glen Hanson, comes this fun documentary about drag performers — Hedda Lettuce, Edie, Sade Pendarvis, etc. — who pay musical tribute to ABBA. Making its world premiere May 1 at the Atlanta Film Festival, the film features appearances by Joan Rivers, Christine Baranski, Carson Kressley, ABBA’s Benny Andersson, and more.

 5. THEATER: Garden District
A 2010 GLAAD Media Award nominee for his first play, Revolver, out playwright-director Chris Phillips gives voice to Allan Grey, Sebastian Venable, and Skipper, the previously unseen and presumably gay characters whose tragic deaths spark the plots of the Tennessee Williams classics A Streetcar Named Desire, Suddenly Last Summer, and Cat on a Hot Tin Roof. The new play opens May 3 at the Celebration Theatre in L.A.

 4. ART: Seduction, Queer Visions of Masculinity
P.J.S. Exhibitions, a downtown Manhattan gallery celebrating its first anniversary this month, celebrates the seductive beauty of modern men in this eye-opening exhibit, which features almost 100 works of art — drawings, photographs, and paintings — by more than 20 gay New York artists specializing in erotic expression like Michael Alago, Aaron Krach, and Harvey Redding. Proceeds benefit the New York LGBT Community Center.

 3. FILM: Going Down in LA-LA Land
Based on Andy Zeffer’s 2006 novel, the latest film from prolific gay filmmaker Casper Andreas makes its world premiere May 1 at the Miami Gay & Lesbian Film Festival before May showings at festivals in Boston, Zurich, and Honolulu. Leading a cast that includes Jesse Archer, Alec Mapa, Judy Tenuta, and Bruce Vilanch, the impossibly hot Matthew Ludwinski stars as a struggling gay actor sucked into porn and prostitution.

 2. THEATER: Project: Lohan
Out actor-playwright D’Arcy Drollinger dons drag to chronicle the rise and fall of life Lindsay Lohan using only published text from magazines, tabloids, gossip blogs, and court statements. The multi-media theatrical experience, which begins its world premiere April 29 at La MaMa, E.T.C. under Ben Rimalower’s direction, also features a cast that plays everyone from Lohan’s Mean Girls costar Tina Fey to ex-lover Samantha Ronson.

 1. MUSIC: Supposed Unknown, Eric Himan
Produced by trans singer-songwriter Namoli Brennet, Eric Himan’s seventh studio album, which drops May 2, might just be the out pop-folk rocker’s most mature, radio-friendly effort yet. His melodic gumbo of blues, soul, and Motown flavors takes listeners on an urgent, satisfying journey, driving fast and free down a dusty trail of tears and joy. Inspired by an LGBT event in North Carolina, “Out in the Outer Banks” is a highlight.
