Kristof Buntinx, a Belgian fashion designer, has created a line of boxer shorts as a sartorial protest of Russia's antigay laws.
The designer recently joined forces with photographer Herman Van Gestel to create a photo shoot of models who responded to the call to activism. The models, seen in the video below, posed in the underwear, which is available in 17 different patterns of Russian symbols.
The campaign, titled "To Russia With Love" by the designer, is intended to be a "quiet revolution," Buntinx stated on his website.
"It is truly a quiet revolution," he said. "Just imagine that you live in Russia, where you cannot be gay, but under your clothing you are still able to wear a pair of protest shorts. Is that not a nice thought?"
A calendar featuring photographs of the models in the boxer shorts will be released later this year. Check out the video of the photo shoot below.
