Dylan McDermott, the hunky actor who had a very memorable bare-bottom scene on the first season of American Horror Story, has agreed to return to the series. McDermott previously portrayed philandering husband Ben Harmon (opposite Nashville's Connie Britton), but the character he will play on American Horror Story: Asylum is still a mystery; showrunner Ryan Murphy only tweeted, "So thrilled to announce Dylan McDermott is returning to American Horror Story!" (McDermott praised Murphy and discussed his nude scenes in a 2011 interview with The Advocate.)

In addition, according to Zap2It's Andrea Relher, Murphy took to Twitter to answer questions (or offer spoilers) about Asylum. Among the highlights:

Run Lola Run star Franka Potente, who Murphy calls "Frank," will first appear in episode 4. He says, "She is a lady with a big secret and great scenes with Dr. Arden." Adam Levine, who many saw get mauled in the debut episode, will be back this season for "several" episodes. The aliens may or may not be real. Says Murphy: "But the truth is scary and you don't find out the answer for awhile."

And lastly, sexy French actress Lizzie Brocheré, who plays the enigmatic Grace — an inmate at Briarcliff Manor, the titular asylum — told us today that her character's backstory is "so dark" it's hard to encapsulate without spoiling it. But, she says, all will be revealed in two weeks. (Considering that in promo shots she's tied to her bedframe a la old Bettie Page bondage photos, kinkster viewers have high hopes.)

The show, of course, already has a legion of LGBT fans, in part because it combines work by many out gay professionals (Murphy, actors Zachary Quinto and Sarah Paulson) and lesbian or bisexual characters (those played by Paulson, Clea DuVall, and Chloë Sevigny to begin with).

American Horror Story: Asylum airs Wednesdays at 10 p.m. on FX. Will you be tuning in?
