A trial date has been set for two Kentucky men charged with a hate-crime attack on a gay man in what is the first federal case under the inclusive hate-crimes law that passed in 2009. According to the San Francisco Chronicle, Anthony Ray Jenkins, 20, and Jason David Jenkins, 37, were charged with kidnapping, assault, and violating the hate-crimes law. Anthony Jenkins's wife, Alexis Jenkins, and sister, Mable Jenkins, have pleaded guilty and are scheduled to be sentenced in August.
