Students at the University of Pennsylvania, by purchasing a $10 card that provides discounts at campus restaurants and other retail stores in Philadelphia, have raised more than $7,000 for the International AIDS Vaccine Initiative and Doctors Without Borders, The Daily Pennsylvanian reports. "I wanted to create some type of outlet for social responsibility, and I just think there's so much we can do at a place like Penn, where we can try to make a difference in our own way," said junior Leila Sadeghi, who cofounded the project. A similar project launched this fall by a friend of Sadeghi at New York University has raised about $4,000 for the two charities.
