Members of the Paris chapter of ACT UP on Wednesday threw condoms filled with red paint and poured bottles of red dye on the walls and fence of the Swedish embassy in Paris in protest of a Swedish court's sentencing of an HIV-positive woman charged with exposing sex partners to the virus, Agence France-Presse reports. The court on January 4 gave a one-year prison term and a 120,000 krona ($13,800) fine to the woman for having unprotected sex with three men without telling them of her serostatus. ACT UP issued a statement condemning the sentence, saying, "AIDS is a disease, not a weapon."
