A gay couple on Cheyenne, Wyo., who were refused a marriage license
have filed a federal lawsuit to challenge the state’s law that defines
marriage as a union between a man and woman, reports Associated Press. Ryan W. Dupree and David Shupe-Roderick filed the lawsuit earlier this month and will act as their own attorneys in the case, which is assigned to U.S. district judge Alan B. Johnson of Cheyenne. They have asked Johnson to block the state from enforcing the law that denies gay and lesbian couples access to civil marriage.
