A battery charge against Marine sergeant Keil Cronauer, who was accused of attacking a gay man in Savannah, Ga., was dropped Thursday.
Chatham County recorder's court judge Claire Cornwell-Williams dismissed the charge because she could not find a sufficient reason to send the charge to state court, according to the Savannah Morning News.
Cronauer, 22, and Lance Cpl. Christopher C. Stanzel, 23, were accused of attacking Kieran Daly, 26, on June 12. Stanzel will face the Chatham County state court on a battery charge. According to earlier reports, there is evidence that Cronauer did not attack Daly physically and that after the incident he apologized to one of Daly's friends on Facebook for Stanzel's actions.
