Two Texas media outlets are apologizing for airing an antigay radio segment after the Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation noted that the segment was offensive.
GLAADBlog.org reports that KETK, an NBC affiliate, issued an apology Friday after re-airing a local KTBB radio segment that prompted listeners to call in and debate the question: "Will the acceptance of homosexuality be the fall of America?" GLAAD contacted KETK, wondering how a reputable news source could re-air "the debate of such a preposterous and potentially harmful question."
GLAAD also reached out to KTBB, requesting an apology from the host who originally asked the question, but GLAAD has yet to receive one from him. The station's owner, however, did issue an apology on KTBB's Web site on Thursday.
