Four out of every five British people say they would be comfortable if William and Kate's newborn baby boy turned out to be gay.

A poll for the U.K. LGBT rights group Stonewall showed that 83% of respondents would be "very comfortable," "comfortable," or "neutral," if Prince William's and the Duchess of Cambridge's child were gay. Catherine, the Duchess of Cambridge, gave birth to a boy on Monday.

The numbers follow a week after same-sex couples were officially granted the right to full marriage equality in the U.K.

As Stonewall chief executive Ben Summerskill put it, "Happily, since last week, every child born in Britain is born into a society where gay people are now equal in law."
