A gay couple in Israel has asked an Israeli family court to validate a spousal support agreement after marrying in New York last year. According to Jewish news site JTA.org, Roni Farber Aflalo and Elad Aflalo Farber petitioned the Ramat Gan Family Court to recognize their relationship, the first time a legally married same-sex couple has done so.
JTA reported that the Aflalos have registered their marriage with the Population, Immigration, and Border Authority, "as they are entitled to based on an Israeli Supreme Court ruling. After they were married, they signed the agreement, which according to Israeli law needs to be validated by a family court."
