...The Ali Forney Center.
I did some work with them when I lived in New York City and was lucky enough to get to know their founder, Carl Siciliano. Carl is beyond inspiring, and the work the AFC does is exceptional. They provide housing, support, counseling, health services, and most importantly, a smart and loving staff for homeless LGBT youth in New York City. The center is in constant need of support. ...Starstruck, By Rachel Shukert. The first installment of Rachel Shukert's new young adult novel series revolves around a group of girls in the studio system during the Golden Age of Hollywood. Now, I know what you're thinking: a book written for and about teenage girls? Calm down and stop pretending like you don't have a favorite member of One Direction. This book is the closest thing to Valley of the Dolls since the final season of The Anna Nicole Show. It is a juicy, campy, brilliantly written page-turner, perfect to read this summer with a couple of your favorite pills.

Unless you've just realized you're allergic to peanut butter, in which case call 9-1-1.

They're based in Los Angeles and operate a weekly shop at the Melrose Trading Post flea market. Etsy.com/shop/October18th
