Elevation: Mammoth Gay Ski Week

March 18-22, 2009

Mammoth Lakes, Calif.

The seventh annual

Elevation

, a more snowboard-focused week, is the new kid on the gay ski
week slopes, but it is rapidly growing in popularity. The motto
of "zero attitude" appeals to a young crowd that
drives in from Los Angeles and San Diego. This year attendance
is expected to top 2,000. Elevation predominantly attracts
boarding boys, but a few girls join in the fun, too. Daily
après-ski sessions bring out the boarders to various
cool town bars and restaurants. Don't miss the exhilarating
nighttime gondola ride up the mountain from the main lodge to
the Party at 10,000 Feet.
