10. DVD: Black Swan
Even before Darren Aronofsky's psychological thriller hit theaters, all eyes were on a certain fantasy sequence involving oral sex between Mila Kunis and Oscar winner Natalie Portman as rival ballerinas. Kunis told The Advocate that she didn't consider her character bisexual and wasn't crazy about the media's attention to that scene, but it's one reason we'll be adding the film to our collection when it comes out March 29 on DVD.
9. BOOK: Dolce & Gabbana Uomini, Mariano Vivanco
Commemorating 20 years of Dolce & Gabbana men's wear, the glamorous Italian label gets a coffee-table book that celebrates male physical perfection. Photographer Mariano Vivanco revisits his Dieux du Stade shoot in referencing classical Greek and Roman sculpture to explore masculine archetypes like heroes, warriors, and sportsmen. Look for fine work from models David Gandy, Doug Porter, and Sex and the City 2's Noah Mills.
8. TV: Mildred Pierce
The noir classic is in good gay hands with executive producer Christine Vachon and director Todd Haynes, who proved his melodramatic mettle with Far From Heaven. Kate Winslet fills Joan Crawford's shoes as Mildred, a strong divorcee sacrificing for a spoiled daughter played by True Blood's Evan Rachel Wood, but just don't call it a remake; this HBO miniseries, which begins March 27, adheres closer to James M. Cain's 1941 novel.
7. EVENT: The Dinah 2011
At the 21st annual lesbian celebration, which rages March 30 through April 2 in Palm Springs, Calif., expect wild pool parties, classy cocktail mixers, sexy go-go girls, edgy lesbian comics, an acrobatic act by A Marine Story's Dreya Weber, and cast members from both The L Word and The Real L Word. This year's headlining performers include two pocketfuls of sunshine: Natasha Bedingfield and out country singer Chely Wright.
6. MUSIC: Femme Fatale, Britney Spears; I Remember Me, Jennifer Hudson; I Am the Dance Commander + I Command You to Dance: The Remix Album, Ke$ha; Between Two Lungs, Florence + the Machine
Can't make the Dinah? Throw your own party with these new girl-power releases. You'll dance to Britney's latest till the world ends -- or until you get distracted by J-Hud's second collection of sassy R&B slow jams. Meanwhile, Ke$ha adds live staple "F**k Him He's A DJ" to club-ready remixes of her greatest hits, and Florence Welch expands her Lungs reissue with remixes, live tracks, and Eclipse single "Heavy in Your Arms."
5. BOOK: Million Dollar Agent: Brokering the Dream, Josh Flagg
Joining his reality costar Madison Hildebrand, celebrity real estate agent Josh Flagg publicly came out as gay on a recent episode of Bravo's Million Dollar Listing, but he sells the whole story in his new book, which is part inspirational memoir and part how-to real estate manual. His Los Angeles properties may be pricey, but you can afford to read all about his unusual childhood, his lavish lifestyle, his world travels, and his boyfriend, Colton.
4. FILM: Potiche
Set in 1977 France and based on a play by Barillet and Gredy of Cactus Flower fame, this fun French-language film by gay filmmaker Francois Ozon stars a radiant Catherine Deneuve as a "trophy housewife" -- or "potiche" -- who takes over her tyrannical husband's umbrella factory. Out March 25, the candy-colored comedy also stars a tight-trousered Jeremie Renier as her obliviously gay son, who may be dating his half-brother.
3. MUSIC: The Most Incredible Thing
After more than 25 years in the business, out British synth-pop duo Pet Shop Boys -- Neil Tennant and Chris Lowe -- just released their first full-length ballet score. Based on the Hans Christian Andersen story about a mythical royal competition, it's an uplifting electro-orchestral collaboration with the Wroclaw Score Orchestra, choreographer Javier De Frutos, and the great Sadler's Wells, London's leading contemporary dance theater.
2. TV: Nurse Jackie and United States of Tara
The Emmy-winning dark comedies return for third seasons March 28 on Showtime. In Tara,Keir Gilchrist's gay teen Marshall stops worrying about his family to focus on his and his boyfriend's filmmaking class. In Nurse Jackie, out actor Stephen Wallem's gay nurse Thor forms an expected friendship with Peter Facinelli's Dr. Cooper, and Judith Light replaces Blythe Danner opposite Swoosie Kurtz as one of Coop's lesbian moms.
1. MUSIC: 8 Songs About a Girl, Deep Dark Robot
What's up with lesbian songwriter-producer and former 4 Non Blondes singer Linda Perry? Joined by Fatso Jetson drummer Tony Tornay to form a band that would make Hole jealous and nervous, she's based an essential breakup album on a rocky relationship with an ex-girlfriend. On snarling tracks like "It Fucking Hurts" and "Fuck You, Stupid Bitch," Perry is a broken doll, fitfully mended by reveling in the anger and stinging pain.
