The GOP has set out to remind Americans that, like you, they are also made of human parts and perform human activities like "drive Priuses," "put together IKEA furniture," and even occasionally, "are black." The Republicans Are People Too ad campaign and subsequent social media hashtag, #IAmRepublican is the ill-conceived handy work of former Mitt Romney strategist, Vinny Minchillo. If there's one thing that Mitt Romney's people know how to do, it's connect with young voters.

The backfire on Twitter and Facebook was swift as jokesters flooded the campaign with snarky quips about what being a Republican means to them.
