Ellen DeGeneres

The latest news about Ellen DeGeneres, the out comedian and host of The Ellen Show. Ellen DeGeneres famously came out on her television sitcom Ellen in 1997, which was preceded by a cover article on Time Magazine that read, "Yep, I'm Gay" and a coming out to Oprah Winfrey. DeGeneres is a popular host for many awards ceremonies, including The Oscars and the Primetime Emmys, and was a voice actor for the Pixar film Finding Nemo, on which she played the character of the forgetful Dory. She married actress Portia de Rossi in 2008.

"I can't have someone who I feel is not only dangerous for the country and for me personally as a gay woman, but to the world," said DeGeneres.
