Equality California's 2007 Los Angeles Equality Awards will honor the United Farm Workers and Arianna Huffington for their commitment to promoting civil rights and equality.
EQCA executive director Geoff Kors called UFW an organization that "champions equal rights for all Americans" and syndicated columnist and author Huffington "a passionate civil rights advocate who endorsed marriage equality in her 2003 bid for governor."
UFW will receive the Equal Advocate Award, while Huffington will be given the 2007 Equality Ally Award. Doug Spearman of Logo's Noah's Arc will emcee the August 11 event at the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza Hotel. (The Advocate)
