Prop 8

The latest news about Proposition 8, often shortened to Prop 8, the controversial 2008 state constitutional amendment and ballot proposition that banned marriage equality in California. Comprised of two sections, the proposition, also called the California Marriage Protection Act, stipulated: Only marriage between a man and a woman is valid or recognized in California.
