Svetlana Harlan - The Buckeye Flame

Svetlana is an LGBTQ+ nonprofit professional and historian. She earned her PhD in history from the Ohio State University, writing a dissertation about the rising LGBTQ+ movement in the former Soviet Union. She has previously held roles as the Project Coordinator of the Gay Ohio History Initiative (GOHI) and as the Communications & Advocacy Manager at Kaleidoscope Youth Center (KYC). She is now the Executive Operations Manager at Stonewall Columbus and is also an independent LGBTQ+ history researcher. Learn more about Svetlana’s LGBTQ+ history experience at Queerlegacy.org.
