1. TV: The Normal Heart
An all-star ensemble, including Mark Ruffalo, Julia Roberts, Matt Bomer, and Taylor Kitsch, isn’t the only reason to watch The Normal Heart. The HBO film is based on the 1985 play of the same name by Larry Kramer, which documented the early days of AIDS crisis in New York City through the eyes of the character Ned Weeks, the founder of a prominent HIV and AIDS organization loosely based on the real-life group Gay Men’s Health Crisis. Directed by Ryan Murphy, The Normal Heart premieres Sunday at 9 p.m. Eastern on HBO. Watch the trailer below. – Daniel Reynolds
