"I don't perceive myself as a beautiful person on the outside," says Rodrigo Toledo. The 32-year-old is one of a rare breed: the shy bartender. When reminded that most people who mix drinks are hired for their aesthetic appeal, Toledo concedes, "Working at a bar means you somehow have to be kind of cute, because that's the business, right?" Behind the bar, "I'm pretty much myself. I'm really friendly with all the customers. It seems like people do like me," he says, "but I think it has more to do with my personality."
