Four men carjacked and robbed near the Morehouse College campus in Georgia last month say they all are gay and that antigay slurs were used during the attack. But at least one victim said he does not believe that hate motivated the attack.
According to the Georgia Voice, three suspects all under the age of 19 were arrested, including one juvenile. Two have been charged with armed robbery, carjacking, and kidnapping in the April 25 incident.
Atlanta police are not investigating the incident as a hate crime,
and the police report of the incident makes no mention of antigay slurs.
Although one victim said the attackers called them "faggots," he said he knew they were not targeted because they were gay.
"The four men did hold a press conference at Morehouse on April 26, but did not want their faces shown because one of the suspects was still at large," reported the Voice.
