Despite a series of bomb threats against legislators in the state, Maine's Gov. Janet Mills has signed a transgender and abortion sanctuary bill into law.
The Trump Administration is suing Maine for allowing trans girls to participate in girls sports, but Gov. Mills says this "has never been about the protection of women and girls."
She has beaten the president in court already. She plans to do it as often as necessary.
She said she would see him in court. She did. She won.
“See you in court,” she told the president when he declared his administration’s policies to be “the federal law.”
Maine Gov. Janet Mills signed a bill to that effect into law today, and Colorado is poised to become the 18th Friday.
“In America, the President is neither a King nor a dictator, as much as this one tries to act like it – and it is the rule of law that prevents him from being so,” Gov. Janet Mills said.

Sixteen state attorneys general say they may sue if Maine passes a law shielding providers of gender-affirming care and abortion from out-of-state legal action.

These states have taken the step to protect bodily autonomy.
"Today I find that stuff abhorrent," Platner told The Advocate. "And I am sorry that I ever used it.”
Maine's attorney general says the Trump administration is withholding funds crucial for feeding school children and adults with disabilities.
Fecteau, who pushed the state to ban the use of conversion therapy on minors, will be the first out gay man to hold the position in Maine.
