“We will not forsake the oath we took to provide care,” the letter states.
“It seems like directives don’t matter, [and now] I feel like I gave people false reassurance,” psychologist Dr. Mary Brinkmeyer told The Advocate.
“Anything rainbow like lanyards can get us fired on the spot,” one employee said.
The decision comes just as the Department of Health and Human Services is deciding whether to implement the Affordable Care Act’s endorsement of trans-affirming healthcare for private insurers.
