Transgender, Nonbinary People Are Royalty
At L.A. Pride earlier this month, co-organizer Ashlee Marie Preston wanted to honor trans lives in an uplifting way. At the "Trans Station," Preston set up a royal throne and asked trans and nonbinary people to pose (with a sceptre, of course) and asked them what makes them royal. The "Royal T" theme produced some amazing images and responses. Here's what these beautiful folks said made them modern monarchs:
"We are loyal: We haven't always had the support we needed, therefore we don't take our friendships for granted. We're ride or die when it comes to our allies. Your support truly is a matter of life or death for us. We show up for those that show up for us."
