Antigay App Wants Answers From Apple

The makers of the antigay iPhone app the Manhattan Declaration are demanding that Apple execs explain why their app was pulled from iTunes last week.

The app, which encourages users to take a stand against marriage equality, had been available for download for use on iPhones and iPads. But in a statement, Apple officials said, "We removed the Manhattan Declaration app from the App Store because it violates our developer guidelines by being offensive to large groups of people."

That explanation wasn't enough for people behind the Manhattan Declaration, though. In a message on the Declaration's home page, they say they are "perplexed" by Apple's decision:

"The core drafters of the Manhattan Declaration have e-mailed Apple CEO Steve Jobs to learn why the declaration's iPhone app has been deleted from the company's site. Stay tuned as we post the letter after Jobs has received it and for Apple's response."
