Moonlighting star to play married woman who falls for Bette.
Showtime announced Tuesday that actress Cybill Shepherd will join the cast of The L Word when the hit series returns in 2007 for its fourth season. Shepherd will play a married woman with two grown children who begins questioning her sexuality when she finds herself attracted to Bette Porter (played by Jennifer Beals)--trouble is, she's also the president of the university where Bette is a graduate student. Also joining the cast is Janina Gavankar as Papi, a gregarious Latina player who gives Shane competition in the seduction department. (The Advocate)
