The ladies of ABBA are joining forces with Madonna to release her follow-up to the recent Confessions on a Dance Floor. Agnetha Faltskog and Frida Lyngstad, after years of seclusion, are working with the Material Girl to create tracks on her new album. An unnamed source told the U.K. tabloid The Sun that Madonna was interested in collaborating with the pair after using a sample of "Gimme Gimme Gimme" for the Confessions single "Hung Up." Madonna has been the first artist to ever get permission to remix and sample an ABBA track.

"Agnetha and Frida loved it," the source told The Sun. "They really warmed to Madonna for rejuvenating one of their most famous tracks."

The other half of ABBA, Bjorn Ulvaeus and Benny Andersson, will not be involved with the project but are believed to approve of it.

It is rumored that the collaboration will begin as soon as Madonna, her producing partner Stuart Price, and the ABBA girls are free. (The Advocate)
