"Like a lot of Americans, I'm under a lot of stress right now Dolly."
Dolly Parton brought Stephen Colbert to tears.
The gay icon gifted the CBS late-night host in his Tuesday program with a performance of "Bury Me Beneath the Willow." Colbert has to reach for the tissues because he was so moved.
Parton, who was promoting her book Songteller and an upcoming Christmas album, remarked on the host's reaction. "So I better hush before you cry yourself to death and you can't finish the show," she said.
Colbert, composing himself, replied, "Like a lot of Americans, I'm under a lot of stress right now Dolly."
