Alexander gets video game tie-in
Leading game publisher Ubisoft confirmed Wednesday that it will release Alexander, a real-time strategy game based on Oliver Stone's historical film. Negotiations are still under way to incorporate likenesses and voice talents of movie cast members. Sources close to the deal report that Colin Farrell, who plays the bisexual conqueror Alexander the Great in the film, is likely to reprise his role in the interactive product, but a Ubisoft spokesman declines comment. The game also will include music by Vangelis, the composer whose music makes up the movie's soundtrack and who won an Academy Award for his soundtrack to Chariots of Fire. Stone said Ubisoft was "scrupulously" rendering historical and "what-if" scenarios, including one in which Persian king Darius wins the decisive battle over Macedonian king Alexander.
