In his first competitions since taking home Olympic gold, out Aussie swimmer and two-time Advocate cover model Matthew Mitcham won four titles over the weekend.
In his first competitions since taking home Olympic gold, out Aussie swimmer and two-time Advocate cover model Matthew Mitcham won four titles over the weekend at the Australian Diving Championships.
Mitcham took home individual titles in the 10-meter platform and the one- and three-meter springboard. He then teamed up with swimmer Grant Nel to win the three-meter synchronized.
Mitcham turned 21 on March 2. He appeared in the cover story for the March issue of The Advocate, talking about his experience in the Olympics and his difficulties landing a major sponsorship after taking home a gold medal. He has since scored a major sponsorship deal with Australia's largest telecommunications company, Telstar.
Last month he was named one of Australia's health ambassadors .
