Advocate and Out Magazine Seek LGBTQ+ COVID-19 Nominations

Advocate, Out seek LGBTQ+ COVID-19 nominations, stories

We're seeking your help finding those who are making an impact -- and those who are feeling it.

The Advocate and Out Magazines want your help recognizing LGBTQ+ persons fighting COVID-19 in some way-- as well as those whose work is suffering from recent closures and social distancing rules. Send us their stories and we may just feature them in an upcoming issue.

If you know an LGBTQ+ person on the front lines, then we'd like to know about them, too. We want to hear about doctors and nurses, pharmacists and paramedics, but also the hospital cleaners and clerks, the grocers, delivery drivers, mail carriers, social workers, HIV testers, Amazon workers, Instacart shoppers, agricultural pickers, and any of the many, many other types of folks who are risking their safety to help keep the country running. If there's an LGBTQ+ person in your life who deserves a little recognition for their sacrifices, then let us know.

We also want to bring awareness to those in the community hardest hit by the recent closures and social distancing restrictions, especially in our clubs, bars, community centers, theaters, and more. Send us nominations for drag performers, dancers, actors, musicians, flight attendants, theme park cast members, restaurant workers, tourism, hospitality, and fashion employees, anyone who works in an LGBTQ+ venue or allied venue and can't work right now. We want to hear their stories. Tell us who they are, how to reach them, why you're nominating them, what state they live in, and any social media or website links you have for them. And yes, by all means, you can totally nominate yourself (this is no time to be shy).

Please send your nominations to magazine@advocate.com.
