PHOTOS: New Yorkers Combat Violence With Protest

Responding to five bias-related attacks in the past month, including one fatality, New York City's LGBT community turned out in force to demand an end to antigay assaults.

Marchers made their way through the West Village to the spot in Greenwich Village where Carson was killed in what police are calling a hate crime. Participants chanted, "Hey hey, ho ho, homophobia's got to go," as they marched past several locations where gay men have been assaulted in recent weeks.
