7 Things That Are Everything This Week

One of our faves, Melissa McCarthy, cowrote and stars in The Boss, playing a disgraced financial guru who sets out to rehabilitate her reputation after going to jail for insider trading. Kristen Bell, who heads the starry supporting cast, gets her breasts groped by McCarthy in one scene, but it’s all about selecting lingerie. Directed by McCarthy’s husband, Ben Falcone, the film also features Peter Dinklage, Kathy Bates, and Kristen Schaal. It hasn’t gotten great reviews, but A.O. Scott of The New York Times allows that it’s “funny without being much good” and “disposable, enjoyable nonsense.” It’s out in wide release this weekend, so enjoy!
