The Advocate's 50th anniversary luncheon took place at the Black Cat in Los Angeles — where it all started. Editor in chief Lucas Grindley and editorial director Diane Anderson-Minshall introduced the events honorees, who represented different generations of LGBT activism: Robin Tyler, Rev. Troy Perry, Connor Franta, Kat Blaque, and Here Media CEO Paul Colichman.
