This year's
unofficial Gay Days at the Disneyland theme parks in
Anaheim, Calif., will feature '80s pop diva Tiffany in
a special performance, organizers announced this week.
The three-day event will take place September 30
through October 2 this year, with Tiffany performing on
Saturday, October 1, at the Kingdom dance party, being held
at the House of Blues in Downtown Disney. Out DJ
Kimberly S will be spinning at the party. An opening
night party, dubbed Wonderland, will be held Friday at
Ralph Brennan's Jazz Kitchen, also in the Downtown Disney
area, featuring DJ Ray Rhodes and drag diva Momma as
hostess. Those attending Gay Days, who typically wear
red shirts to be visible among other park guests, will
visit the Disneyland theme park on Saturday, October 1, and
the California Adventure theme park on Sunday. Both
days in the parks, which are privately organized and
not endorsed by the Disney company, include scheduled
gathering times for specific groups, including gay youth
(sponsored by the Trevor Project), gay families (presented
by the Los Angeles Gay and Lesbian Center Family
Services Program), women, singles, and "bears."
Organizers also sponsor a scavenger hunt and group
photos each day. For more information or to buy tickets to
the parties go to www.gayday2.com.
