Cynthia Nixon
helps with leukemia campaign

Out actress Cynthia Nixon is helping to raise money and awareness for lymphoma, leukemia, Hodgkin's disease, and myeloma. Nixon is working together with the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society to promote the Light the Night Walk, an annual fund-raiser held each fall in approximately 250 neighborhoods in the U.S. and Canada.

The walk honors victims, families, friends, and survivors of the diseases. As part of promoting the event, Nixon has been included in brochures and e-mail blasts, and has filmed a public-service announcement. (The Advocate)
