The piano upon which John Lennon penned the peace anthem "Imagine" is being sent to a Texas prison to promote peace. Dallas native and Goss Gallery owner Kenny Goss and his partner, musician George Michael, will send the piano to the Texas State Penitentiary at Huntsville on April 11, the day of James Lee Clark's execution. The public display is part of an ongoing project to bring attention to the frequent use of the death penalty in the state.

As part of a peace awareness project, the piano will tour across the country to be photographed at sites of significant locations around the world where acts of violence have taken place. The tour will culminate in a video documentary and a published volume. Previously, Lennon's piano has been to Memphis's National Civil Rights Museum and the grassy knoll in Dallas where some believe at least one assassin shot President John F. Kennedy. (The Advocate)
