Hunky British actor Sean Bean (from Game Of Thrones and Lord Of The Rings fame) has donned drag for his newest role, as a Tracie in the the BBC's upcoming series Accused.

It's not clear if Bean's character is a transgender woman or a mere crossdresser, but we do know that Bean plays English teacher named Simon who also has a femme alterego named Tracie.

It's Tracie's quest for love that entangles him in an affair that leads inexorably to a terrible crime of passion, according to the BBC. Stephen Graham stars as Tony, a satellite and aerial engineer, and Rachel Leskovac plays his wife of 12 years, beautician Karen. Somehow the trio crosses paths and their lives change irrevocably in the two-episode series directed by Downton Abbey's Ashley Pearce.

Bean says he did his research for the role which was demanding in part because he had to get full body waxes. He told Radio Times, that he prepared 'by walking round in high heels in the kitchen at home" and went out with his daughter "aarm-in-arm" one night.

'I wanted to find out what it felt like, whether I'd be able to pull it off and have the bottle to function in that situation,' he said."I must have been pretty good, no pictures turned up in the press. Someone even complimented me on my shoes. I've still got four pairs of size-10 heels lying about my house. I forgot to give them back.'
