Walk draws record 4,000 participants

The 19th annual Delaware AIDS Walk, held September 25 in Wilmington, Del., drew a record 4,000 participants, organizers told the Wilmington News Journal. John Baker, executive director of AIDS Delaware, the primary recipient of money raised by the walk, told the News Journal he hopes the large turnout for the fund-raiser is a sign of renewed interest among state residents in fighting HIV. Walk officials say fund-raising totals are being calculated and should be announced next week. (Advocate.com)
