Canadian officials have announced that Toronto will host the summer 2006 international AIDS conference, a biennial event that attracts more than 20,000 attendees, The Toronto Star reports. "It is one of the most important gatherings for the release and discussion of key scientific developments in the fight against HIV, and it will also bring people together who want to respond to the epidemic by sharing their experiences," conference cochairman Marc Wainberg told the Star. The conference, which carries the theme "Time to Deliver," will be held August 13-18. For more information, visit www.aids2006.org. (Advocate.com)
