Philadelphia medical center to be renamed
A health care center for gays and lesbians in Philadelphia is scheduled to change its name on October 12 to reflect the organization's growth since its founding in 1979, the Philadelphia Gay News reports. Philadelphia Community Health Alternatives will be renamed the Mazzoni Center, for Peter Mazzoni, the center's first medical director, who died of AIDS-related complications in 1990. The name change will occur at a ceremony during the city's annual OutFest celebration held to mark National Coming Out Day. For more information about the center, go online to www.pcha1.org.
