Six janitors filed suit against the Equinox gym chain Wednesday because they are no longer willing to clean in bathrooms and locker rooms after gay men have sex in them, the New York Daily News reported Thursday.

The suit, filed in Manhattan supreme court, cites five Equinox clubs in New York City, including the flagship gym in the Time Warner Center at Columbus Circle, according to the article. The now-resigned workers said that they complained to the management about witnessing and cleaning up after sexual encounters in showers, saunas, and steam rooms. Workers also said gym members often treated them in a hostile manner, the report said.

Equinox management called the charges "frivolous," adding that sexual exhibitionism is not "an issue." (The Advocate)
