U.S. Rep. Lauren Boebert, the Colorado Republican known for her staunch opposition to drag shows and vocal criticism of the LGBTQ+ community, is under scrutiny following reports that she used campaign cash at Hooch Craft Cocktail Bar in Aspen, Co., an LGBTQ-friendly bar that's hosted drag shows and is the bar co-owned by her infamous ex.

Boebert was recently involved in a scandal involving co-owner Quinn Gallagher. In September, video showed her and Gallagher getting handsy at a Beetlejuice the Musical performance and then being escorted out. Boebert allegedly asked security if they knew who she was.

Besides groping each other, Boebert was also vaping and both her and Gallagher were just genuinely causing a scene.

Now, her campaign finance reports show that she actually spent several hundred dollars at Gallagaher's bar, according to Politico. The outlet found that she spent $317.48 in late July at Hooch Craft Cocktail Bar.

“Meeting with donors and covering their food and beverage costs at a popular local establishment of their choosing is a standard campaign procedure,” Boebert’s campaign manager, Drew Sexton, told the site.

Boebert's campaign listed the cost as "catering."

Initially, when questioned about the event in September, Boebert denied any inappropriate conduct. Yet, she eventually came forward to apologize for vaping during the performance. However, she remained silent on the intimate behavior that both were engaged in, especially once the footage became public, garnering widespread attention and criticism since it was an all-ages show.

Boebert subsequently said she broke it off with Gallagher, indicating that his affiliation with the Democratic Party was problematic.

The revelation about the campaign’s spending at Hooch is drawing renewed attention because of Boebert’s public statements criticizing drag shows, a regular event at the bar. The expenditure, listed as “event catering” in the campaign’s finance records, seems to contrast with Boebert’s publicly held beliefs.

Boebert has pushed the “groomer” libel against LGBTQ+ people and has attacked drag performers.

“Sending a message to all the drag queens out there: stay away from the children in Colorado’s Third District!” she wrote last year on X, formerly Twitter.
