Rosie O'Donnell is ready to slam Trump on Kimmel, says she has no fear of FCC

When Rosie O'Donnell sits in for late-night host Jimmy Kimmel on ABC stations later this month, the out lesbian said she isn't about to suspend her almost 20-year feud with President Donald Trump.

Despite what happened to Kimmel last September when ABC abruptly pulled Jimmy Kimmel Live! from the air, O'Donnell is promising she won't be pulling any punches.

"I know you’re watching," the 12-time Emmy winner told the president on Monday's episode of the On with Kara Swisher podcast, When asked about the FCC and its chairman, Brendan Carr, who earlier this year opened a public inquiry into television shows with "gender identity" themes, O'Donnell was firm.

"What are they gonna say, that you can’t say that?" O’Donnell asked rhetorically. "I don’t listen to them. I don’t pay any heed to them."

However, the former talk show host revealed she must pay heed to the network brass, who she said reined-in her plans to perform a parody song about Trump.

O'Donnell told podcast host Kara Swisher ABC said she cannot perform an anti-Trump version of "If I Only Had a Brain" from The Wizard of Oz.

According to O'Donnell, ABC suits told her "they couldn’t get permission for the parody because it’s political content." She added that she felt it "absurd" since she used to sing that song on her own talk show that aired from 1996 until 2002. O’Donnell said her song always got a "tremendous response" from her talk show studio audience and the decision was not Kimmel's fault.

"I have been told I’m not allowed to do that," she explained. But being on a podcast, O'Donnell felt free to sing a few lyrics she wrote.

"His approval rate is 30, his diaper’s always dirty, I think the guy’s insane." O’Donnell sang. "He ain’t no stable genius, got a teeny, tiny penis, and he doesn’t have a brain."

She followed up with the "little love song" parody she does plan to perform on her first night hosting, which is a version of "Hello, Dolly."

"Hello, Donny, I know you’re watching, Donny, it’s me, Rosie, showing up on ABC," O'Donnell sang, adding: "You’ve got a crush, Donny, It’s too much, I hear you’re leaving Melania for me."

Swisher, who is also an out lesbian, noted O'Donnell was "sexualizing the whole thing."

"That’s what I wanna do," O'Donnell said. "He's totally wanting of me." And then she sang a few more lines: "You want to grab me, Donny, I want to stab thee, Donny." She said she was "making it up" as she went.

This all followed a question from out soccer icon Megan Rapinoe, who asked O'Donnell via a video recording how she planned to deal with Trump as Kimmel's guest host. Her response was that she planned on "giving it to him in a comedic, honest, truthful, way," and praised the "beautiful" way Kimmel has clashed with Trump over the years, by being "brave and bold."

Rosie O'Donnell will host Jimmy Kimmel Live! beginning Monday, August 17, on ABC.
