In its 10th year, Augusta Pride already draws about 14,000 people.
June 21 and 22 saw a great gathering of Georgia folks to celebrate LGBTQ Pride with an ever-growing number of women participating (yay!) and a strong wave of support from the young people of Augusta. Check them out in Jeff Owens' joyful photos.
"We are one of the top five festivals in smaller metropolitan areas," Lonzo Smith, the president of Augusta Pride, told The Augusta Chronicle about the celebration at the end of June last year. The event, the largest in Georgia outside Atlanta, brings about $1.3 million to the city.
